Christmas procrastination????......

Work is crazy busy at the moment, with reporting and cleaning and finishing up the end of year.  So of course that would be the perfect time to make some Christmas tags for end of year gifts for my colleagues - wouldn't it????

I made 400 of these tags......40 of each design and then gift packaged them beautifully for the staff.....though I did forget to take a photo of the finished product! LOL!  It was nice to see that one was used at our Secret Santa party yesterday. Hopefully they will come in handy at Christmas time.

Colours: Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush, Baked Brown Sugar and Summer Starfruit.
Stamp Sets:  Lots!!!  Some retired sets but also some current......I've also tried to use non-Christmas sets in a different way.  (love a versatile set!!)

P.S. Holidays in 2 more sleeps.....so stay tuned for my annual updating of the blog. :-)

Flower Shop Thanks....

When the current catalogue came out last April, one of the sets that immediately found itself on my "Must Have" list was Flower Shop and the matching pansy punch.  I love co-ordinating sets - it makes creating so easy.  Anyway......I like to have some new thank you cards each term to give to my class parent helpers......and this is the set that I've made for this term.

DSP is Polka Dot Parade.

My favourite image from Flower Shop is the patchwork flower, below in Daffodil Delight.

Next favourite it the outline image that I've stamped in Real Red.

Card stock: Whisper White, Real Red, Rich Razzleberry, Marina Mist, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight.
Stamp Set: Flower Shop, Fabulous Phrases.
Inks: Real Red, Rich Razzleberry, Marina Mist, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight.

Card #10......

This card features a technique I taught at my last technique class.......a starburst (or sunburst) of DSP.  I've edged each piece of DSP in this card, as it only has contrasting patterns and I felt it needed a bit of a lift. I've used Lucky Limeade ribbon, but still current is the Teeny Tiny Sentiments.

Card #9......

This card I paired Wild Wasabi with Primrose Petals.....which is a slight deviation from the colour scheme, but it needed something lighter than Cherry Cobbler.  The sentiment is borrowed from a friend. Primrose Petals ribbon is still available.

Card #6...........

When you make a collection of cards, I always seem to have one or two that I prefer over the others.  Card #2 and this one are my favourites from this set.  Maybe because they are more detailed?  Anyway.....here tis.....   Uses the Warmth and Wonder stamp set.

Request for Blue.....

I have had a request for another A5 card......this time for a blue lover.  I chose a set of retired DSP called Blueberry Crisp, and tried out a new technique.  I like it!!!

I tied all the DSP strips together by clear embossing the matching stamped image over the top of the DSP.  I hope you can see it in the close up image at the top of this post.

Stamp Set: Express Yourself
Ink: Pacific Point, Crumb Cake
Card Stock: Pacific Point, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake

Baby on the way......

No not me.....but one of the teachers at the school where I work.  This is a long awaited addition to the family, and we are all looking forward to meeting the new little lady when she arrives in late October.

Anyway, this is a card that is A5, so there is lots of room for all the staff to sign.  I've borrowed the Ark stamp and sentiment from a friend, but the rest is all SU!

Card Stock: Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White.
Ink: Versamark
Other: Melon Mambo embossing powder, Gingham Garden DSP, Daffodil Delight satin ribbon (retired), various punches and Big Shot dies.

A long time between posts.......

Being a teacher is very rewarding and a wonderful career.....but doesn't leave much time for oneself after looking after my own family as well.  Stamping, sadly, often comes last on the list.

This project was one of those times where I had to combine family and stamping.....YEAH!!

DD 1 wanted a birthday gift for a friend, and found the present, but wanted Mum to make a gift box.  So 9.45pm on Friday night, Mum sat down and whipped up this little number.

And on the inside.......

Yes, purple and pink were the colours of the evening!!  A little bit of retired ribbon, but the rest is all current......except the Rimmel nail polish.....which is actually really good and doesn't chip.  Hehe....not that I bought any for myself :-)

Stamp Set: Lacy and Lovely, Label Love
Card stock: Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White
Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise
Other:  Retired ribbon and brad, Artisan Label punch
